LUCKY AUTO BODY,
always uses the best materials and all repairs are done to factory
specifications. Don't be fooled by the "lowest estimate." There is a
big difference in body shops. A low bid could reflect an incomplete job
or inferior materials. When some items (like alignment) are overlooked
on a repair, the consequences to the driver can be serious. A bad
cosmetic repair will instantly lower the resale value of your vehicle.
Exercise your right to determine which shop repairs your car. Make sure
every detail has been attended to and repaired to your complete
satisfaction. Here are the answers to some of our more frequently asked
questions.
Q. I've never been in an accident how do I start the process?
A. There are a number of ways to process and expedite your claims handling. Here are a few:
-
If your vehicle is not drivable and requires a tow:
Call our 24 hour hotline at (718) 523-7505, and a Lucky Auto Body Shop staff member
will immediately dispatch the tow service, and provide you with
transportation (if necessary) to our facility, your home or office. For after hours TOW Service only call 718.323.2576.
-
If your vehicle has minor damage, and can be driven:
Call Lucky Auto Body first. We will help you to report your accident and wont let your INS company lid you or put presion on you to take your vehicle to shops where they have control, they just want to save money. We don't, we want your car in perfect condition and the INS have to pay you according to your contract.
With
Lucky Auto Body's advanced technology and experience. Remember, "It's your choice" where you take
your vehicle for repairs. It is unlawful for an insurance company to
direct you, or try to sway you to go to any particular facility. Compare Lucky Auto Body to the rest.
Keep
in mind at all times that the Lucky Auto Body staff is very knowledgeable and
helpful when it comes to claims processing. We urge you to call us with
even the smallest of questions so we can make this experience as easy
as possible.

Q. Do I need to get more than one repair estimate?
A. No - Normally only one estimate is necesary.
Q. Am I required to use a repair shop recommended by my insurance company? A. The
answer is NO. Only you may determine where your vehicle is repaired.
Research a shop’s facility, equipment, and staff training to help you
make a best decision for you and your investment.
Your insurance company cannot insist that you have you vehicle
repaired, or direct you to any repair facility – The choice is yours,
and only yours!
Q. Is an insurance company "DRP" (Direct Repair Program) facility better qualified or better set up to offer superior service.
A. The
answer is, NO always. A DRP (Direct Repair Program) facility can be
less qualified in some cases, have an inferior service history, be less
equipped, and be less experienced than any particular non DRP shop.
Compare Luckys Auto Body'S experience, equipment, and service history with others
and we're sure you will lean to the superior product that has given us

Q. Am I required to get more than one estimate?
A. The
answer is NO. You are not required by law to get more than one
estimate. Lucky Auto Body Shop can provide your insurance company (no matter who they
are) with a detailed estimate of all repairs necessary for processing
any claim.
Q. Is the estimate going to be the final cost? A. Not
always, repair estimates will vary. There are sometimes “hidden” costs
(items we cannot see until the vehicle is disassembled for further
inspection) that arise. The Lucky Auto Body staff will document any additional
costs directly with your insurance carrier, guaranteeing there will be
no additional or “out of pocket” costs to you. A lower estimate may not
include necessary detail oriented items such as front or rear wheel
alignments, re-aiming your headlamps, safety checks, etc. It's your
vehicle and the second largest investment people make, so be sure it's
repaired to your satisfaction.
Q. Who may authorize repair on my vehicle? A. Only
you, the owner, can authorize repairs on your vehicle.
Q. Can you match the paint that is currently on my car?
A. Yes,
paint can be calibrated to match the vehicle's current paint specs.
Each vehicle has a factory paint code that acts as “DNA” for your
finish color. All paint is mixed to factory specs, and then hand
adjusted by our expert refinish staff to assure our GUARANTEED color
matches and the tecnic of blending.
Q. Do you use factory OEM parts? A. Yes, OEM / factory parts are available for all repairs. Each repair comes with a detailed form stating the origin of the parts.
Q. Do you warranty the work that has been done?
A. Yes, we stand behind everything we do here at Lucky Auto Body Shop.
In almost all cases Lucky Auto Body Shop offers a warranty that will cover
all repairs related to craftsmanship. As long as you own your car.
Q. If my vehicle's frame is damaged is it a total loss?
A. NO. A car is a total loss only when the price of repairs exceeds the insurance company's determined value of your vehicle. Nowadays, most cars are built using unibody (frame and body as one) construction. Our highly skilled technicians, can return your vehicle to its original factory specifications. If it is determined that the frame section is bent beyond repair, that section can simply be replaced.
Q. Do I have to pay a deductible?
A. The amount of deductible that you will be responsible for is determined by your insurance policy. If you carry broad collision, and you were not at fault, your insurance company most likely will waive your deductible. Insurance companies determine fault by your account of the accident when you make the claim, and by reviewing the accident report filed with the police department. If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and he can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether you will be responsible to pay this when you pick up your vehicle.
Q. Who do I pay my deductible to?
A. If your deductible is not waived, it will be your responsibility to pay us when you pick up your vehicle. If you aren't sure about your deductible, you can call your agent and he can tell you whether your insurance company has waived your deductible or whether it will be your responsibility.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept direct bill to the insurance company or cash.
Q. What are betterment charges?
A. Parts that wear out and need replacement with time and use (i.e., tires, batteries, and suspension parts) are commonly subject to betterment charges when they are replaced during the repair process. These betterment charges are determined by your insurance company and are pro-rated based on actual miles on your vehicle.
